True confession!

Okay...this may sound crazy to everyone....
well, thats because it is crazy!
So today, 1 year, 9 months, 1 week, and 6 days
of being married I had a first...

I cooked my FIRST chuck roast.
Wow, right?

Well, I never was a cook growing up.
I do NOT blame my mom at all,
she always invited me to learn
and to try cooking...
I just hoped that it would come naturally
once I got married.
I am really good with chicken,
but that's because it's so easy to cook!

So my good friend, Natalia, and I
were talking about cooking...
I have talked about cooking with lots of friends.
I am always looking for good ideas
of easy things to make.
So she hooked me up with her favorite
recipe in the crock pot.

It turned out great, and was SO easy!
Unfortunately I don't want to share the recipe yet
because I need to ask her permission first.
It was so cool though!

I love the slow cooker!

As a working woman who gets hungry
the minute I walk in from work,
I think the slow cooker is my new best friend.
I'm so glad I tried cooking a new meat too.
I don't think we will ever get sick of eating chicken,
but it is good to add some variety once in a while.

So that was my exciting moment today.
I am officially a BIG GIRL!

Ok, since you love the slow cooker, try this easy, easy one. Put a pork shoulder in and cover it with bar b que sauce and cook on low for about 8 hours, or more if you want. Take it out and shred it up with a fork, it should just fall apart, stick it back in the crock pot and serve when ready on sandwich buns or rolls, or whatever bread you like. SO GOOD and SO EASY. Pulled pork sandwiches is what I call them.

Love the crockpot! I do tri-tips, chicken, roasts, meatballs, did I say I love the crockpot! I was like you in the beginning of marriage...still not the BEST cook, but I've come along ways!

I love that recipe idea Kelly, sounds great! Oh and the easy part is really cool too! Yay for pulled pork! And yes Dolly, I think the crock pot is going to help me be a better cook!

Don't feel bad, I didn't cook my first roast until a few months ago and I've been married for over 5 years!! Since then I've made 3, Josh is glad it made it into the menu rotation!
