Huntington Lake!

Alex and I had a little weekend get-a-way! It was perfect! Enough time to be away and relax, and we were still able to get done what we needed to this weekend! My wonderful Aunt and Uncle...Tom and Suzy, have a wonderful cabin up in Huntington Lake. We used to go there pretty much every year as a family, and hang out with our Freeman cousins. Well, then we grew up and got busy...so I haven't been up there in 3 years, i think. We were lucky enough to take some time to ourselves this weekend. Of course I was more excited for the adventure because I have some many wonderful memories there with cousins and family. yay!

The road trip begins!

You can tell by Alex's expression that he was really
looking forward to all the pictures I would be taking! haha. I love it!

So our adventure began the minute we got there....oh wait, it didn't!
Alex thought we needed to chill for a minute before all the crazy fun began.

So we sat inside and watched a few episodes of "The Office: Season 4" on our laptop.
All the way to the mountains to be entertained by our computer...hmmm...

So then finally, I thought that we needed to head out before it was dark...haha. So this was Friday afternoon when we got up there.

We enjoyed an easy little hike up to the stream/mini waterfall. Good times.
All the way I was just going on and on with stories about my childhood memories on that same trail. (Which felt sooo long when I was younger...short legs?) then I realized it was maybe a 20 minute hike 1 way...thats not much of a hike. haha. It was perfect though.

Just me being silly!

Here is the oh-so-famous BUTT TREE!

We weren't really next to the tree....it is about 10 feet from the road on a down slope, so we had some fun positioning eachother just right to make it look like we were really grabbing the trees butt. haha. It was fun!

So after our mini hike, I asked Alex if he wanted to walk to the dam. He's never been to Huntington before, so he agreed to this walk....little did he know it's a little further than you would think. It was so nice. Just visiting and walking. Not to mention it was empty up there this weekend. Fortunately there was one man at the dam, so he took a picture for us!

There we are! So I thought it'd be fun to put up a pic of us kids, and cousins when we were younger, at the dam. We are just so stinkin' cute! haha. I love the 80's style!

Then Saturday we enjoyed sleeping in, waking up when we felt like it, in a nice cool room with the smell of nature! haha. So nice!

Then we headed down to the marina to rent a paddle boat. I thought it'd be cool to rent it for a half day and just go all over....forgetting the fact that to get anywhere you have to use your legs....so yeah, it didn't last much longer than an hour and a half. We did head out to the island though.

There is the island off in the distance.

And there we are, close to the island!

There's my boy Alex, who did most of the paddle work...my short legs just couldn't keep up when he went really fast.

Yay! So much fun.

Not enough time laying out though to get a tan...oh well. We did get a good workout though!

I had such a great time, creating memories with Alex, and sharing my memories with him! We came back Saturday afternoon, and it was just the perfect amount of time to get away!

Thanks to Tom and Suzy for letting us go up there and enjoy the cabin! It's looking great by the way with the new windows, doors, floors! Very nice!

It looks like you guys had a wonderful time. I am so glad that you were able to get Alex to go. I need to plan a little getaway like that. Hey, do you guys own the office season 4? If so can we borrow the last disc when you guys are done?
