I have say, I am only posting this because, for me, this is a huge accomplishment! I actually took the time to read a book series, and I enjoyed it!
When I was young I used to get so mad at Terra during the summer because she "wasted" so much time reading all these books...it really made me sick. I complained to mom when she was reading at the dinner table. The reason I was annoyed by it was because I hated reading books. It took too much time. I read for pleasure on rare occasions, and they were simple books, unlike these ones my sister read. I found more fun being outside.
Unfortunately I regret my lack of desire to read books, it looks like a nice relaxation hobby. So I decided now that I have no school books that I must read, that I would try harder to pick up some new books and begin. My friend Kresta introduced me to the TWILIGHT series, by stephanie meyer and I agreed to try it out, then she handed me this 500 page book, and I almost said nevermind.
Come to find out, everyone (well, a lot of ladies) from our ward and many other friends were reading these books. They were all going to the breaking dawn opening, so I thought, why not have some fun. That evening I read the first couple chapters of Twilight while we waited for the book release. I am a bit slow, so it took me a few days to get through it, but sure enough I did. Immediately I began the second book, new moon, and boom, that one only took me a few days! Wow, this was actually enjoyable.
Then before I knew it, I was knocking down Kresta's door, anxiously waiting to read the last two. Book 3 took me a little while longer to get through, about the whole week, with work and all, I still wasn't willing to sacrifice sleep. Then I suddenly blasted through the end of book 3 and was so excited to finish book 4. I started breaking dawn saturday morning (Alex was gone and I didnt have much on my agenda)....i read A LOT that day....its kinda scary.... haha. Sunday rolls around that there's church and visiting teachers, and dinner....etc...and I was anxious to finish the last 200 pages, it felt so close! After we hop in bed that night, 11:00 or so, I decided that I would just read a little bit more before bed, I wasn't completely tired yet. Alex feel asleep, and I still wasn't tired so i kept reading. Before I knew it, I only had about 100 pages to go...so why stop, right?
Now I understand what all the ladies were telling me, about how you get so into it, time doesn't matter anymore, and your body blocks out all tired sensations! Yeah, I totally reached that point. I was determined to finish! Before I knew it, it was 2:00, and even when I finished it, I wasn't completely drousy like I thought I would be....probably because I was so excited about how the ending turned out. Then I realized I would only get 3.5 hours of sleep because I had to be up at 5:30, yikes!
So here we are, Wednesday night, and I am still not feeling tired from that nights lack of sleep. I guess you could say I was blessed for accomplishing my book reading. I can't believe that over a 3 week period I was able to read 4 really big books! (To me they were big!) So I will pause for a couple days before I begin some new novels.
I am really excited about my new hobby! So I just had to share. Perhaps this will inspire others who maybe used to hate doing something to try it again with a more positive perspective and who knows, maybe you will actually enjoy it!
Alright, so lets here it now...what are all the suggested books I should read next?!?!

Oh, Stacey, there are so many suggestions, I don't know where to begin. Next time you are over we will have to go through my books and pick one, but I am thinking either The Glass Castle or The Travelers Gift.
Welcome to the club! I always say that everyone loves to read, they just don't know it yet! All it takes is finding a book you like, I bet Terra is happy huh?
I am with you. Loved, loved the series and finished all four books in a month. Not bad considering I have a 1 year old. Unfortunately, I had to spend the following week catching up on all of the neglected housework:(
I just finished Kite Runner.
I loved Twilight! I was hesitant about it at first, but I was almost instantly hooked!
