Super Fun Weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend! Some good quality time together. Thursday after I got off work, we headed down to Carlsbad to stay the night with my cousins Eric and Harmony, and baby Skye. We got to spend some fun time with them. We share the interest of watching Survivor and The Office, so we started the evening with watching our shows. Very fun. We were excited because we thought we were just gonna have to watch the shows later....but fortunately our cousins are cool! So Friday we got to see some sites in Carlsbad...like Costco. haha. Then we went to the outlets, and got some good deals! yay! That night we met up with Felicity and baby Gracey for some dinner. Felicity thought we were crazy to not have gone the beach on such a beautiful day. haha. It was perfect weather!

Our fun continued to Saturday as we went to Long Beach to be part of the first ever, WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF DRIFTING. Very exciting. It was REALLY cool! Lots of fun! I was surprised that I ended up having such a good time. Of course, Alex really wants to take our car drifting now...haha. So for those of you who are unaware of what drifting is, be prepared to be amazed! It is 100x more fun in person, but we tried to get some good videos of it. I was glad to have get away with Alex. We got to go away for the whole weekend! Lots of fun! Of course we came back to tons of laundry to do, and no food in the house...but it was well worth it!

Of course we forget to take pics with the grown ups because babies are so cute! But we did have a blast with Eric and Harmony! Thanks for letting us crash at your place! We enjoyed our stay very much!

Now for the dritfting pics...yeah, there's gonna be a lot...I had to narrow it down to the best videos...which was really hard to do!

So first off, here is what Alex would like to do to our car...besides the paint color change. He loves the carbon fiber hood, body kits...fun stuff like that. I like our car the way it is though. : )

So now for a little show of what drifting is....

The idea of drifting is to get as close to the wall, as much sideways, and as close to the person you chase without crashing ...even if it means rubbing the wall a little bit.

This next video is a very good example of all of the above guidelines....

Now if you do accidentally hit the wall....this is what you should do...keep going

But if you go a little further than just hitting the wall, this is what happens....

It kind of made me cringe because one of my favorite cars to watch was a really cool corvette....but it crashed in the wall too...so sad. I got it on video...but I kind of moved the camera right when it crashed...oops! The good thing though, is none of the drivers got hurt after crashing. They had lots of tires to help bumper the situation.

There were many many more videos...but they take a long time to upload. That just shows a good preview of what our weekend was like. Many hours watching them narrow it down to the best drifters in the world! We are already looking forward to the next drifting event because we enjoyed it that much! I'm really glad we had the opportunity to go! Thanks Alex for showing me such a fun time!
