Elder Freeman!

I am dedicating this blog to my brother, Elder Tyson Freeman!

This Christmas we got to chat with him for a little while...so I thought I would give an update on how he's doing. Christmas was wonderful by the way! Ate way too much, but didn't worry about it. We worked on puzzles, watched movies, played Rock Band and just hung out and had a great time!

So Elder Freeman is serving in the Washington DC North Mission
He's been out just over a year now, yay!
He has never been homesick....haha... we love him too.
He was just born to be a missionary I think, he loves interacting with people.
He has picked up the spanish language very well, and even has that accent too.
He loves visiting the DC temple when they get the opportunity.
Elder Freeman gets to take investigators to the visitor's center, which is a wonderful spiritual tool.
He always has a good attitude about missionary work and has said that he has really come to depend on the spirit as it guides them to those who are ready to hear their message.
I am so pleased with the service he is doing and I know my family is too.
We love him, and miss his sillyness and fun personality.
It was fun to visit with him on the phone, hear his laugh and to be reminded of what a great guy he is. It was just awesome!
So here are some pics of our missionary.

This was one of his first baptism's.

This is at the visitors center, I love how Jesus glows in this picture.

Here is their district of missionaries, near the beginning of the mission.

In front the White House. wow!
In one of his areas they lived within walking distance.

I'm glad to see that all the missionaries he serves with are silly too.

The wonderful mexican tradition...pinata!

Did I mention that he LOVES the food too! They feed him well, which is very good. He actually got rewarded for being the worst cook...he says there was just one not so good experience...haha. So I am glad the people there take care of him.

I guess all missionaries take pics like this on their spare time...a "p-day" I hope.

Here's Tyson petting a TIGER!
Still as creative and silly as we remember.

A good missionary picture...with their bikes. Tyson did get to drive in a car for awhile in one area. This picture shows that its nice outside...but they have had to bike in some pretty nasty weather.

Tom and Suzy got to go to West Virginia for a business meeting, and were able to arrange a quick trip to see Tyson in DC. Thank you to his Mission President for allowing it! They took Tyson and his companion to dinner and Tyson got to show them a few things in his area. Suzy took lots of pics for us to see. We were so happy that they got the chance to go visit him.

And here is our latest picture...a Merry Christmas from Elder Freeman and his companion.

As you can see, Elder Freeman is doing great. You can just see the excitement in his eyes and the true love that he has for the mission. We, as a family, feel so blessed to have such a great kid in our family. He is my younger brother, but is still a huge example to me. I am so glad he chose to serve a mission and that he does his best. I know that his testimony has grown, which inturn has helped strengthen my own. I love this gospel and the joy it brings to my life, and my families as well. I am also glad for the experiences my hubby had on his mission. I am grateful for all missionaries, especially those who serve with all their heart, might, mind and strength!
So I hope I shared enough about Elder Freeman...there is so much more, but perhaps once he's home I'll have another post with more. haha. Or maybe he'll pick up this fun blogging.
