Friday, Alex and I headed to Long Beach (one of our new favorite places...we don't really need the GPS anymore to get there). This time we headed there to board The Paradise- Carnival Cruise Line!
Yup! Cruise time!!!
The dentist I work for in Sanger, and her husband who's a dentist in Reedley decided that they would take their staff and our spouses on a 3-day cruise to Ensenada. Very nice! I only work there one day a week, but they were nice enough to include me.
Obviously with the swine flu stuff, regulations were made in going to Mexico... so they re-routed our cruise to Catalina Island. Which was fine by us.
We were excited to see what Carnival cruises were like compared to royal caribbean.
So here we are at the end of May... weather is warming up, right? Not so much this last weekend. Matter of fact, we did not see any sun until we came back over the grapevine on Monday.
Oh well... no tanning, or swimsuit wearing, but we still had a great time! It was a nice vacation!
notice the overcast clouds in the background... not sure why we are squinting when there was no sun out.... Had to get a pic with the carnival "symbol"
Our favorite part about Carnival that we were excited about was the endless soft serve ice cream! And we made sure to get plenty of it!
Here we are on Catalina. Nice t-shirt weather, still no sun though.
It was the "flying fish festival" weekend... and no we did not see any. But here is a cool sandcastle they made... took them 2 days.
cool detail...
We decided to be wild and do parasailing... yeah right, too cold, maybe our next trip...
We did a golf cart tour instead... it was enjoyable.
Our ship had miniture golf on it.... very cool!
This was our last day... after doing my hair, we headed outside to golf again one last time.... and within seconds my hair was everywhere in the wind! I don't think we were even moving!
It really was a joke trying to golf on that last day... way too windy!
Notice that my red ball is in the whole already... oh yeah... the wind didn't slow me down too much!
So I don't have any pictures on here with our group... I know, I failed in that department... oops. But we did have a nice time with everyone.
The best part of the cruise was when we saw DOLPHINS!!!! I was super excited. On Sunday we were eating lunch by a window and I kept looking out, hoping to see Dolphins... Alex said there was a good chance I wouldn't see any because we were moving at a decent speed. Well, afterwards we were chillin' in our room playing cards, Alex randomly looked out the window and was like, "Look...DOLPHINS!"... and to my amazement we saw some!!! It was super cool. They couldn't keep up with our ship, but we enjoyed the minute or so that we saw they diving around while we passed by. It was pretty cool. I'm glad he looked out the window at the perfect time he did, otherwise we wouldn't have seen them!
We definitely had a great time. It was a perfect little get away. We enjoyed our trip very much! It was the weekend after our anniversary too, so that worked out pretty nice!

I SO want to go on a cruise. That looks like a very relaxing time.
You always get to go on fun little trips with your work!! I bet your hubby doesn't mind it, either!
I have been pretty lucky to take a few cool trips with work. Nice bosses. Alex loved that he could join me on this one too! Cruises are nice Kelly...its a good price for everything that you get. Basically you're paying for a hotel, entertainment, and food all in one fee. With as much food as we ate, it really turns into a good deal. The only things we had to put on our credit card was sodas, tips and any other things we bought, which isn't really much. Keep you eyes peeled for some good deals, they're out there.
